When choosing an online advertising company, perhaps you have thought of using one of the many advertising networks that are popping up all over the Internet. This is not a bad idea. Networks, like Tribal Fusion, can be an excellent place to get quality advertising space, while saving yourself some headache.

What Are Advertising Networks?

An advertising network is an online advertising company that works as a sales organization that takes care of placing advertisements across a group, or network, of websites. They often have websites that are related to certain topics, allowing the ad to reach a certain target audience. When working with an advertising network, ads often achieve better placement than if the website owner tried to bargain on his own. FastClick
FastClick may be the best ad network option out there. They provide excellent quality of service both to their publishers and to their advertisers. They feature multiple ad types, including leaderboard banners, CPM and PPC campaigns, buttons, half page ads, and skyscrapers, on top of the standard banner ad sizes. Sites that wish to join the network must undergo a strict review process, so advertisers are ensured high quality sites for placement. Sites are also reviewed to make sure they are staying inside the bounds of the network and properly displaying their ads.

FastClick updates their reports on an hourly basis, which provides excellent feedback for both publishers and advertisers. They do require a minimum of 3,000 impressions per month. The program tracks click-through rates for their advertisers and allows the advertisers to automatically target their ads to sites that get a high click through.

Recently, FastClick partnered with ValueClick Media, and combining the two networks has produced a network of some 13,500 sites. Their program is excellent for lead-generating types of advertisements.
Burst Media
Burst Media is a dependable network designed to service small and medium specialty content sites. Their emphasis is on placing ads on sites targeted for the specific ad types. They offer banners, two skyscraper sizes, and button ads, as well as leaderboards. They are a network that will do popup ads as well. Their ads are distributed over some 2,000 websites. The company claims that this type of advertising reaches the target audience better than other types. Advertisers must buy 5,000 monthly impressions. They offer CPM and PPC ad campaigns, which tend to be a little cheaper than other networks. Updates are provided once a day, which can be a downside and some critics find the statistics confusing and slow.
Tribal Fusion
Tribal Fusion is a network designed for highly targeted niche sites. They require 1,000 daily hits, a fairly high traffic number. The company currently has 700 sites on their network. They are able to produce banners of multiple sizes, a few sizes of skyscrapers, interstitial, capped pop-ups and pop-under ads. They also allow CPM and PPC advertising campaigns. Tribal Fusion allows advertisers to have a test ad for a price as low as $25.
