Can´t Afford Banner Ads? What About Buttons? What is a Button Ad?A button ad is like a banner ad, but smaller. Such ads contain web button GIFs, which create interesting pictures that draw the reader´s eye. Web buttons come in four main sizes, 120 x 90, 120 x 60, 125 x 124, and 88 x 31. (Sizes refer to the pixel dimensions of the buttons.) There are also non-standard button ads that are common. (Note that non-standard sizes might cost a little more than a standard button size.)Banner advertisements usually show up at the top of a website. Buttons, on the other hand, tend to be placed on the right or left of the page text, towards the middle of the page. The best placement for advertising buttons is "before the fold," which means situating the button in the site before the user has to scroll down. Internet readers tend to scan-and-go when they read information. If they have to scroll down before they get to your link, they might miss it. Sometimes buttons appear in a combination block with three different ads. This can help to make more affordable web advertising as the cost is shared between three sites. Buttons are often seen on blogs because they do not distract from the content but allow the blog owner to earn some income.
